قَامَ - [ق و م]. (ف: ثلا. لازمتع. م. بحرف). قُمْتُ، أَقُومُ، قُمْ، مص. قِيَامٌ، قَوْمٌ، قَامَةٌ.

 

1."قَامَ مِنْ مَقْعَدِهِ غَاضِباً" : وَقَفَ مُنْتَصِباً.

He stood up from his seat.

 

2."قَامَ النَّهَارُ" : اِنْتَصَفَ.

The day reached midday.

 

3."قَامَ مِنْ نَوْمِهِ مُبَكِّراً" : اِسْتَيْقَظَ.

He woke up from his sleep early.

 

4."قَامَ بِمَهَامِّهِ عَلَى أَحْسَنِ وَجْهٍ" : اِضْطَلَعَ بِهَا.

He did his duties in the best way.

 

 "قَامَ بِوَاجِبِهِ الوَطَنِيِّ"

He undertook his national duty.

 

 "قُومُوا بِوَاجِبِكُمْ".

Do your duties!

Stand and warn.

 

 

5."قُومُوا بِنَا" : هَيُّوا بِنَا.

Come with us.

 

6."قَامَ بِتَعْلِيمِهِ مُنْذُ صِغَرِهِ" : تَوَلَّى تَعْلِيمَهُ.

He assumed the responsibility of their education since his childhood.

 

7."قَامَ عَلَى عَهْدِهِ" : دَامَ، ثَبَتَ.

He stuck to his promise.

 

 8."قَامَ يُخَطِّطُ لِمَشْرُوعِهِ" : أَخَذَ، شَرَعَ.

He started to plan his project.

 

 9."قَامَ مَقَامَهُ" : حَلَّ مَحَلَّهُ، سَدَّ مَسَدَّهُ.

He stood in his place.

 

10."قَامَتْ قِيَامَتُهُ" : اِحْتَدَّ، اِنْتَفَضَ غَاضِباً.

His anger flared up.

 

 

11." قَامَ الأَمْرُ" : اِعْتَدَلَ.

The matter was balanced.

 

 

12."قَامَ الْحَقُّ" : ظَهَرَ، ثَبَثَ.

The truth became apparent.

 

13."قَامَتِ الصَّلاَةُ" : بُدِئَ بِهَا.

The prayer has been started (established).

 

14." قَامَ فِي الصَّلاَةِ" : بَدَأَ بِهَا.

He started to pray.

 

15."قَامَ أَهْلَهُ" : اِعْتَنَى بِشُؤُونِهِمْ، اِهْتَمَّ بِهِمْ.

He looked after the needs of his family.

 

16."قَامَ الْمَاءُ" : جَمَدَ.

The water collected.

 

17."قَامَ بِهِ وَقَعَدَ" : نَشَرَ عَنْهُ أَخْبَارَ السُّوءِ.

Lit. He stood with him and then sat. i.e. He spread bad rumours about him.
